Isle of Klezbos plays "Revery in Hijaz" for The Museum at Eldridge Street, NYC: traditional melody, arranged by Eve Sicular. Concert in honor of new stained glass window designed by artist Kiki Smith (who requested Klezbos perform!) and architect Deborah Gans, 10/10/10. ISLE OF KLEZBOS instrumental quintet special: Debra Kreisberg-clarinet; Reut Regev-trombone; Shoko Nagai-accordion; Saskia Lane-bass; Eve Sicular-drums/leader [recording also availalble on our cd GREETINGS FROM THE ISLE OF KLEZBOS]. Videography: Douglas Smith & Rich Brotman, edited by Rich Brotman at Magnetic Post. Special thanks to Hanna Griff and Eldridge Street Synagogue. The "hijaz" Arabic musical mode closely resembles Jewish "freygish" modal scale. Footage from this Isle of Klezbos concert's other music has now aired on CBS Sunday Morning, originally broadcast 12/5/2010 and now posted online at CBS News website, with Klezbos footage at top & near close of televised piece: http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=7119795n
