Under £20 THREE BLADE FACEOFF, Mora vs Swiss Army Knife vs hand made leaf spring chopper
Old Vid...
Back to back comparison of three blades bought/made for just over £10,,for me this is the leveller..to consider how much you have shelled out, for how much the product gives you back. People may well swear by a Tom Brown Tracker II or Cold Steel San Mai 3 Trailmaster but for those prices,(£200+) you could kit yourself out completely with more than adequate equipment, and then get out there and practice the stuff in the field ...to which end I will get out and do tests/tasks at a location that I have permission to use soon ,but I am taking small steps to ease myself into the whole facing the camera thing ,so please bear with me on the garage based stuff for a while...
The Survivor was a small amount of spring steel from a £20 outlay of leaf springs from a scrapyard but I allowed for the cost of charcoal and oil if you bought them for it's production..although I make my own charcoal and use old engine/gear oil for quenching..Just like you I am going to very busy over the Christmas season with two blade orders,a new singer in the band,my wifes' Honours degree to allow for, three kids yadda yadda yadda but I have so many ideas to bring and ways to improve the presentation as well as content, these vids will keep coming..I really appreciate your views and ratings for these offerings and I hope you enjoy the media of you tube as much as I have with the wilderness outfitters, nutnfancy, hobbexp, richiepowell, seanmulhall, bushcraftbartons, soarneagle, camo, ggreenbushcraft, maddwarfworkshop etc.offerings out there, all from whom I taken inspiration and help over the last year..so a massive thanks to all these guys for consistantly churning out high quality you tube gold for the world.
If you have any suggestions for reviews or challenges to achieve in either a backwoods or workshop environment please let me know but until then I have many areas of interest such as tents, tarps, knives, machetes, archery, stove making, knife making, rock music(bassist for first element),weight training and generally doing boys stuff so if you are into that there will be a vid coming eventually...but especially the one I will hold myself to,, which is to document the complete journey from paper designs to finished bushknife so you can see what I can produce( on a good day!) from my delapidated garage,a leaf spring and some engine oil,,it should be great......have a great Xmas...
