Investors at the Nairobi Securities Exchange continue to suffer losses with the market sliding to a 9 year low this week. The 20 Share Index closed today's trade at 2,754 points, a 25.6% drop from its position at the start of 2018, with majority of counters posting double digit decline in their share price over this period. Investor wealth as measured by market capitalisation, has shed 384 billion shillings since January, to stand at 2.137 trillion shillings by close of trading today. Experts have in the recent past cited capital outflow triggered largely by the exit of foreign investors following the chase for increasingly attractive returns in other markets and jitters of the policy environment domestically.
