CINCINNATI (WKRC) - After a year break, BLINK will return to Cincinnati in 2019, but this time, it'll extend over the Ohio River and into Covington as well. BLINK organizers announced the expansion Wednesday night with the city of Covington as their backdrop. The 2017 event brought 1 million people to downtown, according to Rich Walburg with the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber. Now, the Roebling Bridge will also be part of the arts and lights show that brought murals to life and made concrete dance. BLINK will light up the bridge and move over into Covington along Madison Avenue and ending at Seventh Street. The event has a lot to work with on the other side of the river too. the Ascent, numerous buildings, Hotel Covington and Braxton Brewing Company could all be featured. "A big part of the conversation was how far over into northern Kentucky can we go? Do we go?" said BLINK producer Dan Reynolds. "We just think that main corridor that goes up Madison is just a central part, has just been a central part for northern Kentucky. Newport comes. Ludlow comes. Everyone will find that and calls that home for northern Kentucky. " ArtsWave is also getting in on the fun, and Skyline will sponsor the 2019 parade. There are still a lot of details that need to be ironed out, however, so organizers said to expect future announcements. The event will be held Oct. 10-13 in 2019.
