Hope as stalled multi million shilling mining project resumes in Taita Taveta

The stalled multi million mining project of Iron Ore in Kishushe, Taita Taveta county resumed early this year and many residents in the area are hopeful that they will benefit from the project.They now want to meet the investor to reach an agreement towards development in the area. Kishushe Iron Ore had been closed in 2012 as there was a disagreement between the investor and the public over consent which led to wrangles and sacking of the youth and women. Residents of Kishushe, Mbulia, Mlilo and Ngolia have expressed their hopes that the community will get clean water, tarmac roads and employment. The residents also raised concerns over dust caused by the trucks ferrying iron ore.
