Peter Lindemann introduces the compact version of the S3A12 solar charge controller, shown beside the standard one. It carries the same specification, a 3 amp 12 volt linear charge controller suited to a panel of around 45 watts, in a smaller case with a smaller heatsink, so he warns plainly that it will thermally protect itself if overloaded.
