Sudan hopes U.S. will lift economic, trade, financial embargoes

The United States is expected to start lifting sanctions on Sudan from December. Khartoum has been under economic and trade sanctions since 1997. The U.S. imposed the restrictions following claims the country was supporting terrorist groups and violating citizens' human rights.
