As night fell on Newman, the town’s blue ribbon-wrapped lights illuminated the downtown. The ribbons are there to honor Cpl. Ronil Singh, who was shot and killed early Wednesday morning during what was supposed to be a routine traffic stop. Those tributes, and a theater marquee that reads “Ronil Singh Forever Remembered,” are some of the visible examples of how he’s being memorialized.
