The floods have subsided in Greenvale, Oropune, St. Helena, Kelly Village and Sangre Grande, and families are now faced with the process of cleaning up. In the coming days and weeks, flood victims will also be making claims for compensation for items that have been destroyed by flood waters. Speaking on NOW on TTT, Ava Dhanoosingh of CIC Insurance Brokers said in most instances persons have the misconception that home insurance covers all the contents of their homes. She further explained that problems can arise as persons may find that they are under-insured.
