Mali has been suspended from international soccer. This is after the country's sports minister Housseini Amion Guindo sacked the executive committee of its soccer federation. Soccer's governing body- FIFA, rules protect the independence of elected football officials from political intervention. The decision now means that Mali cannot play international matches. Their next world cup qualifying game though is not affected. Mali are bottom of African World Cup Qualifiers Group C with one point from two games with their next match away to Morocco in August, giving them plenty of time to find a solution. FIFA may lift the ban once the dispute is resolved to its satisfaction.
