What brings me back here every day is the ability to help people. When a 9-1-1 call comes into our 9-1-1 center, whether it's a house phone or a cellphone, it plots on the map. So we don't have to so much search who it's coming from, where it's coming from, we have that information right in front of us on the ANI/ALI screen.

When a 9-1-1 cellphone call comes in, we have the closest cellphone tower, as well as the phone number and a approximate range, whether it might be 5 meters from that address or it might be 500 meters from that address. That way if the caller has no idea where they are, we can kinda ask them "Are you near this street or this landmark?" So once we have a location, we find out the name, phone number and any kind of pertinent information we may need to send police, fire and medical to the scene.

We have a good directory that once we have to transfer the call to another agency throughout the state and throughout the county, we can easily do a one-button transfer and transfer the call and give them the needed information.
