See what's up in tonight's sky for the week of November 14 through 20, 2011.  Find Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Mars and more!  Astronomy made simple, with "Eyes on the Sky" - in 4 minutes, find out what you can discover in the night sky, all by yourself!  No previous knowledge of astronomy required.  Just watch, and look up!

This video details what can be seen in the night sky this week naked eye, with binoculars and/or telescopes.  No previous knowledge of astronomy is required, but both beginners and seasoned amateur astronomers can find something useful in each episode.  While generally highlighting what is bright and changes week to week, viewers can learn more about the constellations and bright stars simply by noting where the planets are, and familiarize themselves with the stars in the sky just by watching each week.  

Eyes on the Sky encourages all viewers to consider aiming or shielding their own outdoor lighting down to avoid contributing to light pollution and/or light trespass.  Reducing light pollution makes more stars visible in the sky so everyone can see more of "what's up" in the night sky.  Encourage local businesses and neighbors to aim or shield their lights down as well, or simply turn lights off altogether.  The stars have been an inspiration to humans for thousands of years, yet 90% of the world's population live under light polluted conditions.  

We may be witnessing the first generations - EVER - to not be able to see, marvel at, and bey inspired by the stars in the sky - because they will never see them.
