Blast from the past: This is a three-minute cassette tape audio recording I made of Anthony Weiner in the early 1990s when he was a 27-year-old newly elected New York City councilmember. This was at a NYC council committee hearing where he berated an opponent of a city ordinance that would provide consumer protection to car rental customers. He accused the opponent, a leader of a citizens' group, of being "co-opted by corporate interests." Back then I thought he was a showman, but not in a good way. I recorded this on February 19, 1992.
