DELICIOUS Winter Spice Apple Turnovers. Really easy and delicious and perfect for the winter months. These are also knownas Apple Danish and are simply cooked apples with sugar and spices encased in a golden brown all butter puff pastry. Yum! I have used two apple types - a cooking apple and a Braeburn which cooks well but will maintain it's texture better than a cooking apple. I have used nutmeg and cinnamon but you can miss these out or use some other spices to customise to your taste. I hope you enjoy this recipe! ►LIKE - If you liked my video & would like to see more, remember to 'LIKE' (👍) my video ►SUBSCRIBE - Click 'SUBSCRIBE' for all my videos here on YouTube - it doesn't cost anything and you can watch all my videos as soon as they come out. ►COMMENTS - I read my comments & it gives me an idea of your preferences and what you'd like to see next. ❤ NEW WEBSITE ❤ I have a new website!!!!!!!! In a saucepan over medium heat add the apple, lemon zest, spices, golden sugar and 1 tbsp water. Stir for 10 minutes, until the apples soften. Place in a cold bowl to cool for 10 minutes. Preheat the oven to 200°C/gas 6. Unroll your pastry. Use a sharp knife to trim any ragged edges then cut into 6 squares. Place 2 tbsp of apple in each square. Brush the edges with milk or water. Bring one corner over to the opposite one and press the edges with a fork to seal. Make a small hole in the top of each for the steam to escape. Transfer the turnovers to a large baking sheet lined with non-stick baking paper. Brush milk over the pastries then sprinkle with sugar and bake for about 20 minutes until puffed and golden. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before serving or allow to cool on a wire rack. Sprinkle with icing sugar
