Teach Toddler Basic Dog Training Techniques : Heel Command in Dog Obedience 3 year old toddler training Chihuahua x Bichon puppy heel and lead walk from 11 week to 15 weeks. We started with heeling, place and turn exercises. Within a week we walk her on leash in the house. Week 2 we walked outside, she was a bit scared the first 2 times. The 3 time I had my children running around and walking on leash while heeling was very difficult but within 3 sessions she picked it up and was able to walk property without too much pulling (she knows 'back' command) and is not too badly distracted when meeting other dogs on the streets.
