One of my favourite pieces, the Alkan Concerto for solo piano. I love this lyrical part, standing beside a lot of dense writing where you pretend to play orchestra and piano at the same time. This is quite Chopinesque, especially those grace note phrases at 0:50 and 0:58 (p.16). And such inventive music it is! There's a run where you play two completely unrelated chords in alternation. I could go on. This is just a very quick and dirty trial recording specifically for this lyrical part. I'm absolutely not happy with my playing and will work on it for the real recording. It's just hard to find an opportunity to record it. I recorded this months ago actually simply to post it on Facebook, but i uploaded this for a friend and figured, why not make it public anyways. I've learned all 33 pages now (the abridged version!), only needs some more polish. Hopefully i'll have a full recording soon! Funny lighting, but i like the contrast between black silhouette and green garden scene. And of course there's washing equipment in the video. I didn't even noticed that when i was recording, haha, just for you, itchy!
