A5235699 Mars is a soulful 1-year-old black spayed female German Shepherd who was found as a stray in La Puente and brought to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on November 10th. Weighing 69 lbs (and needing to gain around 5 lbs), Mars is a lovely girl who is a bit unsure in the shelter environment, and yet is calm and interested in people. She is eager to cooperate with her handler and walks nicely on leash. She has enjoyed being out in our shelter’s playgroups where she interacts with other large dogs. Mars has been used for breeding and is eager to be the baby in her new home. We anticipate she will enjoy going on walks or hikes with you, and will blossom into quite the cuddle-buddy once she feels secure in a home. Mars will be a wonderful and rewarding best friend in a loving forever home. Through our Shelter Support Program, our volunteers photograph and video shelter pets to increase their chances of adoption significantly. Our volunteer Adoption Coordinators help facilitate adoptions of shelter pets. United Hope for Animals supports rescue, spay/neuter and networking of shelter pets to increase their chances of adoption. UHA is not a shelter, but supports shelters to help increase visibility of animals who might not otherwise be seen.
