Slowing growth, rising prices hurt consumers in Zambia

Zambia's economy has been growing at a sluggish rate averaging three percent per annum since copper prices dipped two years ago. The cost of living and doing business has been soaring as a result pushing citizens to a corner. The situation is made worse by a government decision to cut fuel subsides last year that led to a 39 percent hike in the price petrol.
