Nasya Morgan is terminally ill, and her battle with cancer has captured the hearts of many in the Miami Valley; and her story's reached people across the world. There is no shortage of princess dolls for 4 year old Nasya.Every moment is a blessing... everyday that we have is a blessing from God and we take it as such. And we just try to live it in the moment, and right now, she's great so we're going to live it as she's great, said Kathy Morgan, Nasya's Mom.Nasya has an inoperable tumor on her brain stem. It is a condition known as DIPG... that attacks a child's nervous system. Her Mom, Kathy explained that radiation and chemotherapy are her only chance. We're trying to spread awareness to let people know hey this is important, this is a disease and it's killing kids right and left, Kathy explained.Nasya is a fighter who is inspired so many, spread through the Nasya Nation Facebook page. A Fairborn soldier, who's overseas, was so moved by her determination, he sent her his purple heart. No matter what she goes though she's got a smile and a laugh and people are so touched by that and he said that she deserved that purple heart more than she did. He couldn't have picked a better soldier to give it to.This little fighter is headed to Disney World to see some of her favorites in person. They just finalized plans with Make a Wish and leave Saturday afternoon. She's going to get to have lunch with the Princesses and dress up like a Princess for the day... so yeah, she's real excited.Kathy cares for Nasya each day, while her husband works. You know, the last months, you want to be right by your kid the whole time... so it's really, really straining on him. It's hard for me to watch her go through this on a day in day out... thing, it's rough. So this magical trip provides them all a little breather. No more doctors, no more sitting in this house watching all this... no more snow. You know, and get to enjoy the warm weather and get out and not have to worry about anything except having fun. With the Princesses and outfits in tow, they will enjoy every single moment. The community's rallied around this family... If you want to help, this Friday - Bob Evans Restaurants in Springfield are donating a portion of the proceeds to Nasya's family. On Saturday, February 15, a pancake breakfast is happening at the Brethren Church in New Lebanon from 8-11 AM.
