Wiring 24 Volt Digital Volt Meter Into Our Off Grid Solar Power System

I installed a 24 volt cigarette lighter socket and a volt meter in my off grid solar powered tiny house to show us the status of the batteries at any given time. I had been wanting to do this a long time ago but my cigarette lighter plug vanished and I never could find it again. So I went out and bought another one for the project. Not long ago I switched our solar battery bank over to 24 volts DC in order to increase solar power production and reduce loss in the lines. Now I have AC power and a 24 volt DC line running to our off grid home. The 24 volt wire goes into a 24 - 12 volt converter so we can plug in small devices and accessories. Some cigarette lighter adapters with USB charging ports allow us to charge our phones, cameras and other smaller electronics. Today I wired in a cigarette lighter socket on the 24 volt dc line and then secured everything neatly in place on the side of the power distribution box. Then I plugged in a 12/24 volt DC volt meter with thermometer built in. This has a nice and bright digital display so now we can always see the battery bank voltage at a glance.
