A walk-a-thon was held at the Damascus High School stadium to benefit Brittany Jones, a survivor of a tragic auto accident in Damascus. Her insurance company has refused to cover the cost of the 6 weekly rehabilitation sessions her doctors say she needs to fully recover. The school and the larger community came out to support her, and donate funds towards her recovery. In addition to financial assistance, her classmates, friends and supporters walked around the stadium track - it was a walk-a-thon, after all. There wasn't too much going on besides that in the late afternoon, when I arrived. But I tried to at least give you a chance to be there through this very short video. Which, I admit, is a bit hyper in its cinematography. Goodness gracious, that was a pretty fast panoramic shot. And I got the water tower, of course. But seriously, the real point of uploading this video is to bring attention to this cause: you can still help Brittany Jones complete her successful recovery, by mailing a donation to: Brittany Jones Medical Fund, c/o Chevy Chase Bank, 26001 Ridge Road, Damascus MD 20872.
