SLDB reports on the early morning of 9/10/14 after seeing, breathing, tasting and hearing his brethren sea lions scream in pain from the flesh being seared from their backs with glowing hot irons by ODFW and PSMFS employees. The last thing this sea lion wants to do is go in the box. And I do not blame him. SLDB observer was on site to film this video of the trapping and branding in the early morning of 9/10/14 in the EAST Mooring Basin Astoria, Oregon. This tax payer funded war on sea lions must end! Nobody, can survive, the austere diet plan of the state of Oregon that is inflicted upon the Columbia Sea Lions. Please contact Donna Wieting NOAA Directors Office of Protected Resource Ask her to pull the permit for the "lethal take " of sea lions on the Columbia River.
