For the latest news across Belize, visit: http://edition.channel5belize.com/ A few weeks ago a delegation of Belizean media travelled to the Netherlands on a U.S. Embassy sponsored trip to learn more about the International Court of Justice. The second part of the programme began today as the delegation travelled to Guatemala City to get an update on the pulse of the Guatemalans on the issue of the Belize/Guatemala dispute some eight months after their referendum. The group interviewed several personalities, including former Foreign Minister Carlos Raul Morales who is now on a ticket to run as Vice President of Guatemala along with Sandra Torres as President. The interview with Morales took place this afternoon. One of the questions posed to the former diplomat was regarding our own Foreign Minister’s comments on the possibility of a Guatemalan invasion if Belize would vote NO in the I.C.J. The two foreign ministers shared a very good relationship but the former diplomat was in disbelief that Elrington would make such a statement. For context we go first to the statement by Elrington.
