ROBBIE "SWIMS FOR FOOD BARS & SPINS"
* On this day, 26 Month old Robbie decided to take his mommy up on the offer to swim Freestyle in our 22 yard pool, in order to earn a food bar.
* Robbie is beginning to learn to structure his GRADE 6.8 breath recovery to do
4 strokes and a breath... He has not been taught to breathe on both sides yet, but is sometimes inclined to do so.
* Robbie is encouraged to practice Freestyle so that he will swim horizontally, with surface flutter kicking and lateral breathing once in a while.
* Robbie is encouraged to practice Freestyle so that he will swim horizontally, with surface flutter kicking and lateral breathing once in a while and who have developed the efficient breath control ability to hold his breath, exhale out the nose underwater, and simply inhale once and quickly through the mouth above the water, he chooses to do what we call a creative "CLOWN-FISH" type swim-style for fun. He is doing his more inefficient type of swimming, "BECAUSE HE CAN" and is likely developing more core and leg strength while doing so.
* We continuously insist that he do back swimming and freestyle drilling to reinforce the concept of efficient swimming, so that he knows the difference when he needs to rest or swim with less effort to reach a solid destination.
* HE DID IT.... 22 Yards of Freestyle ~ 59 "Big Arms" in 1 minute & 50 seconds
