loudlabs.com SYLMAR - Around 2130, LAPD units assigned to a street racing task force requested backup on approximately 40 street racers in the area of Balboa and Foothill. Units quickly boxed the area in and placed down spikestrips in order to stop the racers from leaving the area, along with an LAPD Airship assisting overhead. LAPD was checking IDs on people claiming to live in the area. Officers allowed the residents to go home. At least 1 truck was impounded for a street racing offense. It is unknown if any citations were written and how many arrests were made, although subjects were in the back of police cars and it appears that officers were writing tickets. LAPD Valley Traffic is the handling division on this incident
