CINCINNATI (WKRC) - New research has been released on a diet that specifically appears to work against Alzheimer's Disease.

The Mediterranean Diet, which is more fruits, vegetables, fish, nuts, grains and olive oil appears to delay the onset of the disease.

A study in the Journal of Neurology found adults who stick to this kind of diet have fewer risk factors for the disease.

This included improvements to what's called beta-amyloid accumulation and glucose metabolization in brain cells, both of which have been linked to Alzheimer's.

Those who followed the diet delayed Alzheimer's onset up to three and a half years compared to those who didn't stick to the diet.

They found this out by studying adults between the ages of 30 and 60.
