Searching for clear dark skies part 2

Asking around where can I get a clear view of the valley. Patricia Williams suggested two locations 5 and a half mountain spot regarding the yellow posted marks I saw earlier, meaning no trespassing and Jabs mountain. It was decided we go Jabs mountain 20 minutes south. The roads top of Jabs mountain has been destroyed after the mining area closed, the path we navigated was much rougher than 5 and a half. My quest for clear dark skies was met with slate, rough terrain, baseball-size sharp rocks, mud puddles, wide pits, and rain. At top of Jabs, we found a clearing for bonfire locals, the top of Jabs provided a clear shot of the night skies of the planet Venus and Orion Nebula with the Newtonian and mount on a pebble slab. This was a very fun outing on top of Jabs. Glad I was able to share the experience.
