this is how the cheaper unrectified LED's work. notice how they SHIMMER? thats because you are "just barely" perceiving what they are actually doing. Blinking. LED's are DC AC is just DC flipping back and forth. so everytime it flips the "correct" way the LED light flipping the wrong way they are out. they do this at 60 times per second IE the 60hz rate or our AC current. this is what the lights look like at 1200 frames a second played at 30fps
