Kenya has confirmed that a high-profile athlete from the country has failed a doping test. In an interview with Reuters, the chairperson of Athletics Kenya has confirmed the violation but declined to name the athlete. Jackson Tuwei says the body is following all legal procedures before releasing the athlete's name. The news comes weeks after Olympic champion Jemima Sumgong tested positive for banned substance EPO. Kenya's middle and long distance success has been marred by doping cases. Officials estimate the number of positive tests at about 50 in the past four years alone.
