All is set for Madagascar's presidential run-off poll on December 19. As the country's electorate heads to that important poll, the question of abject poverty continues to make headlines in Africa's largest island nation. Most Malagasy citizens struggle to fend for themselves and afford basic amenities. But they refuse to give up hope. They hope the new leader will bring change to their lives, ultimately effecting better futures for them.
