Dubai, UAE as one of the most dynamic Emirates of the UAE has been going through tremendous ups & downs in the past many years. The highs have come thanks to the speculative decisions & choices which were made by the rulers of the country, the investors & the expats who wants to ride the wave of positivity that was flooding the market. But the lows also followed with Dubai, UAE couldn't meet up with the demands, the challenges and the problems that came with the inability for Dubai, UAE to handle its own hype. Dubai, UAE was unable to deliver the projects it promised investors, it wasn't able to handle all the projects, the rising costs and the uncontrollable market dynamics that hit globally. 
So after all these speculative hopes, making financial decisions which resulted in easy lending & borrowing perks by the banks to normal consumers and hoping on projects to complete themselves magically - the market could not longer sustain itself - and that is that is where the banking system and the banks crashed under its own greed. 
And that is why now the market is busy correcting itself.
