For the latest news across Belize, visit: http://edition.channel5belize.com/ On Monday, the Belize Credit Union League signed a project with the Inter-American Development Bank Lab to boost climate resilience for farmers and fisherfolk through green microfinance in Belize. Under the Caribbean EcoMicro Programme, the League and three of its credit union affiliates will receive technical assistance to design and pilot adaptation finance that will increase access to climate-smart technologies, products, and services by farmers and fisherfolk. According to Business Development Officer Lindbergh Smith, over the next four years, one point seven million dollars in green financing will be placed in the market.
