The ANC has hit out at the US President Donald Trump for his remarks that some Countries in Africa and Haiti are to put it mildly - trash countries. The ANC has described the comments as unacceptable. Speaking from East London ANC Deputy Secretary General Jesse Duarte says while African countries face difficulties the US also faces difficulties and the Trump's remarks are offensive. At the same time, the Botswana Government has summoned the United States Ambassador to that country to express its displeasure at Trump comments. Botswana is expected to host a Congressional delegation from the USA at the end of January. It is demanding to know if Trump believes Botswana - which has welcomed US citizens is also included in his remarks. The government of Botswana says it puzzled why President Trump used derogatory terms to refer to countries that have had cordial relations with the USA for so many years. Botswana has further called on SADC, AU and other countries to condemn the remarks. For more news, visit: http://www.sabc.co.za/news
