The national women's volleyball team the Malkia Strikers were on Saturday night handed a volleyball lesson by Cameroon in the final of the women's Volleyball Africa Nations Championship in Yaoundé, Cameroon.

The Malkia Strikers who were looking to bag their tenth continental title went down three sets to nil of 25-22, 25-19, 29-27 to the efficient and tactical hosts. It was Kenya’s first defeat in the competition which had brought together nine countries, and it gifted Cameroon her first ever gold medal in the biennial competition which is now in its 17th edition.
