During my stay at the University of Texas at El Paso for the “Bridge The Divide” event, I took quite a few videos with my GoPro Hero 5 camera. Just to show you guys a different type of content away from my in-home “studio” where I report news stories and do my live lo-fi radio show on YouTube. I took the footage in this video at a place called “Lowbrow” which is a bar in El Paso. A quick back story here is that I had just gotten off the plane maybe a half hour to an hour before this video. Our plane was delayed by 4 hours in Atlanta due to the weather situation that cancelled 3,000 Delta flights over the period of just a few days.

There was a dinner scheduled for us at 7pm and of course I and “Some Dumb American” who rode the same plane from Atlanta were both late. So we go directly from the airport to the restaurant and eat briefly, then we head straight over to Lowbrow for sort of a “meet & greet” with some fans. I decide to get my GoPro out of my bag to film the inside of the bar where some bands were performing and also to film some of the other YouTubers who were there including Roaming Millennial, Vernaculis, Hunter Avallone, and of course Some Dumb American.

During my filming, a young man named Iesam Shaw comes up to me begins to have a conversation about many different things politically related to El Paso, Juarez, his Mexican identity and life, and much more. He was not the only person I spoke to that night but he was the person I got the most out of as it relates to content that I filmed. I have more content than this to upload, including my “boxes” speech at the actual event the next day, but this is one I wanted to get out right away. Enjoy.
