I bought this 5 amp hour portable battery pack from Target several years ago. It became a popular item for my friends who lost power in Sandy and other storms. You can recharge the battery with AC or 12 volt dc or with a solar panel. It has a built in 50 watts continuous DC to AC inverter. You can also use it as a battery booster for your car. Even though it is not commercially available, a similar unit can easily be assembled with available parts. It is the portability and versatility that makes this one of my favorite toys.
