A one minute rant about the fact that economists can't predict the future and quite frankly, people shouldn't expect us to predict the future. At the end of the day, we're not fortune tellers, nor have we been gifted with clairvoyance. I think the world would be a better place if people just acknowledged that humans in general and economists in particular are pretty terrible at predicting the future. I firmly believe the role of an economist in society should in no way revolve around predicting or trying to predict the future, what do you guys think?
