This pack of  pH strips was bought for $2 including shipping on eBay. pH is the measure of the acid or base level in a solution. A pH level of greater than 7 is a base. A pH level less than 7 is an acid and a pH of 7 is neutral. pH strips of 1-14 are used, in this video. Basically, touch the strip to the item, then match the color. If the item is dry then the pH strip may not work. Distilled water is used to wet the item so the strip will work with the item. Be careful of using water that can influence the pH level. Well water is a good example of water that can influence the pH level.
