I just picked up this Mitchell model 1283 "ToneAlarm" AM tube clock radio for $10 at the flea market. The clock runs and the radio chassis needs new capacitors. The cabinet has some rough scratches on top; but, I think I can polish it enough to make it look OK. I assume the number "8254" that is stamped on the back is a date code for the 82nd day of 1954. BTW, this is a standard AA5 chassis, using tube types 12BE6, 12BA6, 12AV6, 50C5, 35W4.
