Folsom School District Under Fire after 12-Year-Old Bullied Over Race

A mother says a Northern California school district didn’t do enough after her son was bullied over race.
Titus White, 12, was sent to the ICU after a classmate cornered him in the bathroom and shoved him into a metal pole, the boy’s mother, Kindra Miller said. 
Even though he is out of the ICU, Titus has not returned to school. Miller said he is scared because the bully is still in school and she wants him removed.
“I don’t understand. This seems very cut and dry to me,” she said.
On Monday, a Folsom Cordova Unified School District spokesperson said they are ordering an outside, independent investigation and admitted the district did not ask enough questions the first time around.
“What happened to this young man is terrible,” spokesperson Daniel Thigpen said. “It shouldn’t have happened. Every parent trusts us to keep their child from getting hurt at school. And we’re sorry that this happened.”
