NEW DETAILS: Police Seek Escapee From Moccasin Bend

Chattanooga police have identified a man who escaped from the Moccasin Bend Mental Health Institute and jumped into the Tennessee River. Chattanooga police got the first call came around 7 p.m. Tuesday, when 36-year-old Waylon Farless jumped into the water just north of the hospital. He was last seen wearing a black shirt and black shorts.Authorities did not say why Farless was in Moccasin Bend but did confirm he is a patient out of DeKalb County, Tennessee with a criminal past. Police also say before jumping into the river, Farless jumped off a roof of a building, then scaled a fence. The Chattanooga Fire Department is searching for the man. Chattanooga police and Hamilton County deputies are helping in the search.
