By John Madewell  - The jury in the Reginald Tumlin trial reached a verdict late Thursday afternoon.The jury convicted Tumlin on aggravated child neglect, criminally negligent homicide, and two counts of child abuse.Tumlin faces up to 60 years in jail.In a surprise move, Reginald Tumlin took the stand Thursday morning.The 32-year-old Tumlin is accused of killing his 3-year-old son Jaylen Ramsey back in the spring of 2010.And at 2:30 Thursday afternoon, the jury began deliberating. When Tumlin took the stand, he admitted to biting his son but said it was only in a playful manner. Tumlin testified, "If I bite my son or my children period, sometimes when I bite 'me, they take off running, laughing. That's it."The autopsy showed numerous bruises and bite marks. The medical examiner's  report concluded the cause of death was a perforated bowel from blunt force trauma.In closing arguments, prosecutor Charlie Minor focused on reinforcing that. Minor said, "Those blows went straight through that child. And this father did that to his own son."Tumlin's attorney, Dan Ripper, countered that the state hasn't proven Tumlin killed his son, police didn't collect a swab and that Jaylen roughhoused with his brothers and sisters.
