Validating his big-figure win in the James Marvin Stakes opening day, Jackson Bend ($8.90) split horses rallying from off the pace in midstretch and kicked clear to win Saturday's Grade 1 Forego Stakes by 3 1/4 lengths under Corey Nakatani.

Trained by Nick Zito, Jackson Bend settled into stride well off a fast pace of 22.09 and 44.45 seconds contested by 5-2 favorite Sidney's Candy, Hamazing Destiny, and Escrow Kid. He wrested command after six furlongs in 1:09.20, and drove clear to win the seven-furlong race in 1:22.08 seconds on a fast track.
