The Rosemary Ainslie circuit is run in aperiodic flop mode charging a second battery through a diode, with the input battery at 12.33 V while the charge battery climbs to 13.70 V. Placing a hand on the inductive resistor and then on the MOSFET visibly slows the pulse rate; releasing it, the circuit settles into a rhythm clocked on camera at about 55 beats a minute. The effect is described as hand capacitance loading the circuit.
