Turtlecreek Township woman sentenced for murdering her ex-husband

WARREN COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) - A Turtlecreek Township woman pleaded guilty to murdering her ex-husband. A judge then sentenced Mercedes Robb to 25-years-to-life in prison.

Mercedes Robb called 911 on November 3, 2016 and said that she shot and killed Jason Robb. According to Prosecutor David Fornshell, she told the dispatcher she was guilty and refused to do CPR because "he was already gone".

Fornshell said Jason Robb was scheduled to pick up their children that morning at her Oregonia Road home to take them to school. Since Mercedes planned to kill Jason, she didn't even wake up the kids. As he got out of the car, she shot him multiple times.

At some point, she tried an insanity defense. She also claimed Jason was sexually abusing their children. Fornshell said she had made those claims in the past and there was no evidence of abuse.

He blamed the murder on a custody battle.
