Finance Minister Tito Mboweni will deliver his maiden Medium-Term Budget Policy Statement (MTBPS) to Parliament later today. Most of the medium-term fiscal planning would have been completed before Minister Mboweni was appointed two weeks ago. The new finance minister will be delivering the fiscus in the midst of the country's trying times economically. Recent Economic decisions such as VAT increase and sky rocketing fuel prices have been blamed for having done little to protect the most vulnerable from the impact.
