http://www.davidlynchfoundation.org/ In this clip from the 2011 Change Begins Within Gala, David Lynch presents the 2011 Quiet Time Award to superintendent Dr. Carlos Garcia for his visionary leadership in promoting academic excellence and the full development of young people, as an educator. With his support, the in-school Quiet Time Program in San Francisco (where over 2,000 kids now practice Transcendental Meditation as part of their daily routine) is producing marked improvements in student wellness and academic achievement. The David Lynch Foundation brings stress-reducing Transcendental Meditation to at-risk, high-stress populations such as veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress, kids in inner-city schools, the homeless, and Native Americans. Transcendental Meditation is the most thoroughly researched and widely practiced meditation technique.
