In May 2013, 108 high school and 20 college students were awarded $2,000 scholarships through Kaiser Permanente Northwest's Health Care Career Scholarship Program. This program aims to increase and diversify the region's health care workforce by investing in the professional and personal health of youths. In five years, nearly $1.25 million in scholarships has been awarded, helping 566 youths to pursue health care careers.
