When we perform the Patha of Shri DurgaSapta Shati; after reading/listening Adhyays from 1 to 13, and performing Navarn Japa, we have to read/listen Pradhanikam Rahasyam. King Surath asked the rushi , “You have told me about Navdurga and Matrukas (other goddesses) now please tell me in which form I have to worship/perform Pooja of Goddess Durga”. Now here rushi is telling king Surath, everything which includes their different names and their different forms which are originated from Goddess Mahalaxmi. Mahalaxmi describes the names of Goddess Kali as 1) Mahamaya 2) Mahakali 3) Mahamari 4) Kshudha 5) Trusha 6) Nidra 7) Trushna 8) Ekaveera 9) Kalratri and 10) Duratyaya. Mahalaxmi describes the names of Goddess Saraswati as 1) Mahavidya 2) Mahavani 3)Bharati 4) Vaak 5) Saraswati 6) Aarya 7) Brahmi 8) Kamdhenu 9) Vedgarbha and Dhishwari. Then goddess Mahalaxmi asked Goddess Mahakali and Goddess Mahasaraswati to give birth to the different gods and goddesses and allot some specific duties to them so that everything in three lokas ( Pruthavi lok, Patal lok and Swaga lok) would run smoothly.
