Magic Mike was all kinds of amazing—so today's news about a potential sequel, OR PREQUEL, is pretty gosh darn exciting!
Channing Tatum, the star of the film, did a little Twitter Q&A for Glamor Magazine, and when he was asked about the possibility of a Magic Mike 2, he got SUPER excited!
He replied back, "Yes, yes and yes! We're working on the concept now. We want to flip the script and make it bigger."
In an interesting twist though, Joe Manginello, who also stars in the film, told Hollywood.com they were playing around with the idea of doing a prequel instead!
He said, "Because if you do the sequel, then you lose Mike. Otherwise, what's Mike going to do? He's going to come back for one big heist ... so, you would do the prequel -- how they got there."
Regardless, Magic Mike has been box office gold, raking in almost $78 million dollars so far. When you consider the film was made for only $7 million, you can see just how profitable this stripping franchise truly is!
Also worth noting—Magic Mike producer Reid Carolin is turning the film into a Broadway play. Joe Manginello and Alex Pettyfer have already agreed on the record to exploring the idea of participating in the play somehow.
So let me know if you guys would be stoked on a Magic Mike prequel or sequel—what would you want to see and are there any new guys you'd want to see added to the bunch? I think Chace Crawford and Andrew Garfield would be AMAZING additions—not exactly sure how'd they'd fit in but I'd love to see them completely out of their element!
